RIOT GAMES
For Riot Games I developed, designed and animated a visual concept for the World Finals of League of Legends in Paris, Berlin and London. Every single piece of the visual language I created entirely by using analogue tools likes spray cans, markers, stencils and brushes and composed them digitally.

VISUAL LANGUAGE
Originally, the design direction was just intended as part of the opening ceremony, but it developed into a concept for the overall visual identity. The visual language was based on landmarks of the host cities of Paris, Berlin and London, as well as tags and images of the players. The result was an anachronistic, rebellious, and authentic design for the young target group.

POSTER DESIGN – LIMITED EDITION
I also developed additional versions of the posters, which were more artistically illustrated and intended as merchandise for fans. I expanded the color palette to allow for maximum creative freedom. This way, fans of Faker, Maple, Oddie, and others received artistically illustrated portraits of their idols.

VISUAL LANGUAGE – BLACK & WHITE
During the design process, an even more reduced direction was created, which completely avoided colors and only used black and white. This reduction gave the visual concept an even more anarchic and rebellious character.

visual identity toolkit
All illustrated graphic elements were combined in a large toolkit, giving the client the opportunity to independently create a variety of media for the event.
BRUSH LETTERING
In addition to using various graffiti tools, I also tested working with brushes of different sizes. I painted a series of large-format letterings on paper and, after digitizing them, used them to create several posters.
